A series is recommended for people who are looking for overall improvement in the body's posture or form, relieving chronic places of tension or injury, and anyone looking for better intrinsic alignment of energy. The series is a powerful tool to improve body awareness and proprioception, as well as emotional wellness and relief from chronic pain.
This series was developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf - She got her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and studied for 12 years at the Rockefeller Institute on Chemotherapy and Organic Chemistry, and later went on to study mathematics and atomic physics in Zurich as well as Homeopathic medicine in Geneva. After experiencing health struggles within her family, she became dissatisfied with traditional medicine protocols and went on to study osteopathy, chiropractics, yoga, and many other modalities.
In her search for wholeness and healing, she discovered the importance of fascia - the bodies connective tissue.
By 1940 she had started to develop this 10 session series with the goals to improve the relation of all the different segments of the body into a functional whole that moves freely, breathes deeper, and is better aligned energetically to initiate our own internal healing. She called this 10 session process "Structural Integration"
60 min - $115 | 90 min - $150 | 2 hour - $200
A bodywork session combining techniques from Structural Integration and traditional massage with Scar and BoneWork - This session is ideal as maintenance for active lifestyles or repetitive work / life patterns, and most chronic pain or autoimmune disorders and their co-morbidities. Integrative massage is best for "spot-work" on one or two particular areas of the body - or to prepare for a series.
Some dysfunctions will take 3-5 sessions to mitigate or correct, but change is typically noticeable immediately after receiving the work.
Integrative Massage is a culmination of every modality Erin has studied - all pulled together into a session curated to what the body needs that day. It starts with postural analysis and testing what ranges of motion are hindered to find the root causes of dysfunction in the body so we might begin to unravel it to it’s origin and help the body better self-integrate.
If you have any autoimmune disorders or chronic inflammatory conditions, let your therapist know so we can adjust the session to accommodate how the body will best receive this work. It has been helpful for many people but often needs to be scaled down in intensity or time duration to prevent any flare-ups of conditions.
This session is done with client wearing loose comfortable shorts and a sports bra for maintaining modesty in a session that will require movement.
