The beginning of my practice has many starting points, and at the end of the day, my story is an echo of someone else's and with some small alteration - it's the story of another or another. We are never as separate or different from others as we often feel - and it's because of the similarities that we are drawn together to become more whole, to heal.
In the bottom of a filing cabinet is an envelope with scraps of paper and crumpled index cards - all scrawled upon and blotched with the ideas of a business created to help people with complex problems in their body and being.
The business ideas were dreamt up between my friend M and I - a dear friend who ended up passing a few years later due to health complications; The envelope was placed into the bottom of my filing cabinet, not to be forgotten, but rather was buried like a seed to be cared for and tended to for the next decade.
Above that seed is folders of notes, certifications, study guides, letters from clients and friends, journal entries and scratched off 'To-Do' lists: all curated and compiled to support this dream blooming into something worthy of her legacy.
From Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Yoga Teacher, to Board Certified Advanced Structural Integration Practitioner (and the oodles of other fancy certifications crammed between them), every new skill or modality has been with M in mind, with you in mind. Pain is an adhesive, it connects us in the deepest ways and cultivates immediate understanding between humans. The goal and mission of Crane & Crow is to help people help themselves - to work together to find freedom and synergy within your own being so that we are one person closer to being whole; a community of healthy people with the ability to do more with life because the body finally has the space to contain the energy needed for living.
Thank you for helping me to honor my friend - she would be so excited to meet you and support your wellbeing. And would definitely want to yap your ear off.
