-Grounded Movement:
A perfect early morning start - this class doesn't have much standing or balancing aspects to it, but rather grounded movements close to the floor. Slowly inviting movement and deep breathing into each joint and making length in the muscle groups leaving you balanced functionally and ready to face the day ahead.
-Vin to Yin:
Vin is short for Vinyasa - a Sanskrit word meaning "to place in a special way". Vinyasa blends breath to sequential movement with, bringing warmth and energy into the body. Expect standing postures, and easy balancing challenges (props are used to accommodate all levels of ability). Once internal heat is created, it is utilized in intentionally held postures to promote length in the muscles, regulate the nervous system,
-Fascia Flow:
This class will incorporate various mobility tools within the practice - lacrosse balls, core-balls, bolsters and blocks - combined with breath-led movements. The goal is to open the spaces of the body that spend all day hunched in, clenched tight, or overworked, and balance the posture through informed movement. This class will help with your sense of spacial awareness in the body (proprioception), as well as improve body awareness as we listen to the internal ebb and flow of intensity with this practice.
Yoga Nidra:
Yoga Nidra translates to 'yogic sleep' and is a guided meditation with easy breathing and plenty of props for maximum comfort. For an hour - you will get to rest comfortably and fall into a meditative state following along consciously or subconsciously. This is a time carved out for you to simply exist- to put down the day and rest deeply, giving any stray thoughts a place to escape and evaporate to leave your mind feeling clear and more awake. Students are welcome and encouraged to bring some cozy socks or small comfort items - and are given as many props as needed to support your while you lie down for an hour to reset.
